Derr Equipment is looking for an experienced, motivated, and customer-focused Lawn & Garden Service Manager to lead our Lawn & Garden service department in Savannah, Missouri. As a Cub Cadet and Case IH dealership, our Lawn & Garden department plays an important role in serving homeowners, acreage owners, landscapers, contractors, and other customers who depend on their equipment.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Lawn & Garden service department.
- Schedule and coordinate service work, repairs, and technician assignments.
- Communicate with customers regarding equipment repairs, estimates, timelines, and service needs.
- Diagnose equipment issues and assist technicians with troubleshooting when needed.
- Oversee repair orders from initial customer contact through completion.
- Review completed work to ensure repairs are accurate, complete, and meet quality standards.
- Monitor department workflow, productivity, and turnaround times.
- Assist with warranty claims, service documentation, and manufacturer requirements.
- Work closely with the Parts Department to ensure technicians have the parts and materials needed to complete repairs.
- Help train, develop, and support Lawn & Garden service technicians.
- Maintain accurate service records, customer information, and department documentation.
- Assist with service estimates, pricing, and customer approvals.
- Handle customer concerns and work to resolve service issues professionally.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and professional service department.
- Stay current on new Lawn & Garden equipment, technology, diagnostic tools, and service procedures.
- Assist management with department goals, reporting, and other dealership responsibilities as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous Lawn & Garden, agricultural equipment, powersports, automotive, or related service experience preferred.
- Previous service management or supervisory experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting knowledge.
- Ability to diagnose and understand small engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple jobs and keep work moving efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and work effectively with technicians and other dealership employees.
- Professional and dependable attitude.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn dealership management and diagnostic systems.
- Case IH or other Lawn & Garden equipment experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
